Woooo Hooooooo!!!!

 

My question is......It say's take the 1st does the evening before and the 2nd dose 3 hours before the exam. My exam is @ 6:30 in the a.m. shocked   I'm used to trying to down that battery acid crap that satan created (golytely) But that just produces projectile vomiting. So can I do this all the night before? I don't want to be up @ 3:30 in the a.m. I'm gonna be cranky enough mad The party is scheduled for friday @ 6:30. So I'll be doing this prep tomorrow.

I'll be suffering along with you -- I have to do it tomorrow for my surgery on Friday. My instructions were the first dose at noon, and the second at 7 pm. This is for a crack-of-dawn procedure too. I'm hoping that after the huge cup of barium I had to swallow a few weeks ago for a small bowel follow through, that the taste won't be quite as bad as I remember it. Wishful thinking? LOL.

Maybe call your GI and clarify. It would be cruel to be up all night. Plus for me, it would be impossible to even ride in the car that soon after a dose!

3 hrs before procedure? That's crazy, especially assuming that you'll have to travel to doctor's office or clinic between 5-6 AM. I think what you need to do is go on a clear liquid diet all of Thursday & move your phosphosoda doses up so that you start the 2nd dose around 9 PM. Then you should be cleaned out by midnight-1 AM at the latest & can lie down to rest up for a while. That's what I've done several times & my gastro found my colon to be clean enough. I would just do it all the day before expecially if your apt is at 6:30am, I would start doing it around 4-5pm the day before your apt, I've only ever been told to drink the phospho the day before and then about 1/2 hour before I leave for my apt to do a fleet enema *up the butt*, not to drink phospho the day of, that's the first I've ever heard that one.

Doing a liquid diet a day or 2 before prep day makes it much easier for stuff to come out, cuts way down on the cramping and visits to the can.

mix 1/3 of the phospho bottle with a full glass of clear cold pop and drink it as fast as you can, doing this 3 times in total will get one 45ml bottle of phospho down without the harsh taste of it because it'll be so diluted.

I did a search here for Phospho soda and it seems everyone does both doses the day before. 3 hours before the procedure is insane smhair

Noon and 7 sounds good to me.

You're welcome...and just so you know, in my 17 yrs of prepping I've found that some GI's overkill when it comes to prepping, my first GI always insisted I go through 2 45ml bottles as well and all the other GI's I've had since said that 2 is overkill and one is enough. Though they did have me take 4 dulcolax tabs with tons of water a few hours after I was done taking the one bottle of phospho, which still beats drinking 2 45ml bottles of it.
