should i refuse a flex sig without anesthesia?

They are painful for me too and I agree it is mostly the air that hurts the most. They did give me a pill that dissolved in my mouth to help with the cramping associated with all of the air and that helped a bit. I would definitley ask if they can give you that. Honestly the c-scope was MUCH better, including the prep. I hate doing the enemas for clean out as they give me really really bad butt burn whereas swallowing the prep for the c-scope wasn't as bad.

Knock me out!!!!!

Had one without anesthesia.... and I must be a big baby...it hurt like h*ll. They even made a note in my records next time a colonoscopy with anesthesia...lol.

When it was time for another - it was the whole enchilada!

If you are having any level of stomach problems (minor/major flare, diarea, etc) Ask to be knocked out.
I refuse them completely. I get a colonoscopy every year or 2.

just so all who contributed know, i told the kid that is administering (paper work boy) the drug trial, that he was to ask the doctor if i could have a shot or xanax. as was recommended in this thread) he asked and the doctor said he would give me a shot of something to relax. i still dont know if i will continue in the drug trial. i am going to start a new thread asking what folks know about the drug golimumab.
