Thank you all for the welcoming! I am in remission as of right now. I went into the hospital April of 2008 because my Lialda stopped working. They put me on the usual treatment and I was not responding. As im laying in the hospital bed my doctor says, "Well heres your options, surgery or this new drug." I was scared of both! Remicade has a bunch of scary side effects and the surgery is definitely not something I want. Fortunately the Remicade did help as they hoped it would and I have been on it ever since.. So I have been in Remission for about 6 months. I hope it stays this way because I dont know how many more options I'll have before the surgery. I have been feeling pretty good, I was hospitalized for 15 days so when I got out it was a process getting back into the swing of things! I started going back to work full-time in August and now I am living my life normally. I just get sad sometimes when my friends want to go out and drink and I have to think oh nope cant do that because its not just a hangover in the morning, its more than that. I know you guys know where I am coming from!! Anywho! Thanks agaiin for making me feel welcome here! Have a good Thanksgiving everyone!!!
Exactly as me, Remicade saved me from surgery too, but now it seems that is not working as the first time. All my friends drink too, here in Puerto Rico we drink a lot of alcohol and hanging out with my friends means having alcohol in hand all night, but I have a great time watching them act under the effects, lol. Just don't drink.
