Is This Normal?

I am blessed.............I feel that I have been in remission..........it's been awhile since I posted..........I have firm BM's 2 - 3 per day..........am eating whatever I want.........soooo here's the poop (no pun intended)  My bottom still aches after being in what I feel is remission for 2 months and the past few days I haven't been wanting to eat.........not fatigued/not nauseated............just not interested in food. Tummy a bit upset, but not bad.  Is this normal?  Is it normal for my bottom to ache this long?  My bottom aching is and was during the worst part of my flare the most irritating part for me. I just want that pain to go away.  I do sits baths and do stretching exercises and have had my gluts massaged by a therapist.  Any input would greatly be appreciated.

If you have abandoned all UC meds, you can flare again at any time. In fact, you can flare while on maintenance med, but it likely will be easier to nip quickly if you continue on 5-ASAs. Why did you stop them? There are many possible causes for "bottom" pain, such as hemorrhoids, constipation, anal fissures, etc. I'd say that it's not "normal" to have continuing pain there in remission; you likely need some adjustment to diet and/or medication to get rid of it. Thank you for your responses - Judy you are most likely right. Old Hat I quit as advised by my doctor, but I did take you advice and went back on the Canasa last night - we'll see if it helps. Haven't been impressed w/ my GI anyway and when I go to see my regular practitioner I will ask for another GI.
