I recently started using Pentasa Enemas nightly last week... By the morning after my first does, there was next to no blood and I had less frequent bm's - what a difference!!! I have noticed though that 95% of my bm's now are dark dark dark brown, which is very unnatural for me. Is that a normal cause of the Pentasa enemas???

If the pentasa enema is like the Mesalamine Enema (Rowasa) then it is normal. I get much darker everything: bm, blood, mucus after using rowasa - usually ranging from deep purple to black.

The full stool colour won't be changed from the Pentasa, specifically...it'll mostly change from what you've eaten and how much bile, etc.
It's good you're having improvement.
What exactly did the doctor suggest regarding dosage scheduling...meaning every night until when? tapering, etc?
Keep us posted as to how you're doing,

I use them and everything is dark in the morning. They help me a lot.

I am using them nightly for one month (3 more weeks) and then I see my Dr. again... I am assuming then we will discuss tapering etc...
I'm glad to hear that other people have dark stool with their enemas... :) lol

How much blood were you having before starting the enemas?

Small amounts... I'd say usually about
a teaspoon with every bm (not that I had measured it lol)...
