What is remission?

It's mostly based on your symptoms I believe. If you are not having bloody d and loose stools then i would call that remission.
As long as your stool is nicely formed and having no symptoms then it's all good.

I think that still goes under the category, remission. Visible inflammation meaning it's showing in CAT scan or colonoscopy?
According to my G.I. , if you are asymptomatic then you shouldn't have inflammation in the first place. I thought symptoms follow with inflammation.

Doctors indicate the lack of symptoms that it is remission. But one can still have inflammation and not have any symptoms at THAT moment - it can however manifest itself into symptoms later on down the road. We can't have a c-scope everytime we think we are in remission to verify because preps are harsh and it can actually cause mild inflammation especially in the rectal area. Also too, one can have severe symptoms with only minimal inflammation. So, I do what my doctor said - base my remission on how I feel. So to me remission means no bleeding, no urgency, no pain and before I would say no D but I think that is my new normal for me because I still have D every day (1-4x's) but I don't have any of the above mentioned symptoms.

Makes total sense. That is what I do, just base it off how well I feel. I know when I am feeling sick and start to get that liquid gooey feeling in my intestine that I am headed for a flare or in a flare.
