tapering off of Zoloft

I went to see my primary care doc this morning about tapering off of Zoloft.  I started taking it in early December 2008, after I finally realized how much trouble I was having with post partum anxiety.  I decided that it was time to try to taper off of it, as my UC seems to be in a good, solid remission and things are calm (well, as calm as they can be with an almost 10-month-old!).  He said for me to cut my pills in half for a couple of weeks, then quit.  Hopefully it goes well!  And if any of you happen to notice a change in my mood or whatever (yeah, I know it's hard to determine that on-line) please let me know, ok?  I have a family history of anxiety disorders, so it may be that I just need to stay on Zoloft. 

Just 25 mg. It's just about the lowest dose, I think.

Even with a pill splitter, there's no way I'll get them cut evenly into quarters. They're not much bigger than a grain of rice, and are shaped the same way...so you can see how they'd be hard to cut evenly into quarters.

If you can"t cut the tab any smaller than half try taking the half every other day for an additional week.
