At birth I was jaundice and my grandmother told my mother I wouldn’t make it passed the first week.
I tested positive for hypoglycemia at age 5 but my blood sugar from yearly physicals (with fasting) show normal results. I treat myself as though I am hypoglycemic though; I eat frequently and consume lots of protein and limit sugar to only after protein.
I always had these unexplained high fevers growing up.
I remember being taken in yearly (at least) to the doctor with flu-like symptoms and given penicillin shots in the rear; I hated those. Tell me that didn’t lead to some of these problems.
I got shingles the year or near when I was diagnosed with UC.
I had my first seizures two years prior to being diagnosed with UC.
I lost my hearing four years ago in my right ear…unexplained, possibly a virus I’m told.
It may be that I am just lucky to have lived this long and the traditional medication are giving me all they can.
What’s funny is that an informal poll was conducted in the office I was told that I was thought to be the healthiest person. It’s because I look fit from the outside and workout and eat very healthy foods (most of the time). They also see me taking all those supplements and assume I’m a health freak I’m sure.
I listen to you folks in here and appreciate you sharing your remedies. I’ll continue to try them and, who knows, maybe something out there will be my magic bullet.
Did anyone else have similar issues growing up?
Someone’s comment about us each having to live with this while taking on different responsibilities (work, kids, whatever) was a valid comment as it relates to our ability to be able to try some of the different alternative methods.
