Max doasge of Sulfasalazine?

whats the max dosage of Sulfasalazine, 6 500 mg tablets? I take 4 pills now, but want to go up to see if it helps

I am not sure what the max dosage is, but my doctor has prescribed up to 8 500mg pills a day. I usually take 2 -4 pills for maintenance and up to 8 pills when I am in a flare.

I've also been on a max dose of eight 500 mg pills per day. I was instructed to take two pills (1,000 mg), four times a day. My maintenance dose, which I'm currently on is one pill (500 mg), four times a day.

I've also been on a max of 2 500 mg tabs 4X a day. It's been quite awhile since I was on that much, but it's definitely do able.
