I recently just started taking Salofalk (Mesalazine) granules (twice daily) to help relieve inflammation on my cecum that has occurred along with my ulcerative proctitis in the rectum. This evening when having my usual bowel movement I noticed that some of the Salofalk granules were in my stool. This obviously would mean they have not properly dissolved in my large intestines...
If the Salofalk granules are functioning properly, is it normal to see the granules in your stool? or should I not see them at all? I am not sure how many of the original granules were in my stool, all I know is there were several of them spotted sporadically in my stool.
If this is not normal, why is my body not digesting/dissolving the granules?
