 Hey people, Im in pain everyday no matter what i eat or take. I was wondering what type of pain pills you guys are on or what you have been on, so i can talk with my GI and Reg Doc about it. Thanks for all your help.

My GI isn't big on prescribing pain pills. She believes in treating the inflammation to try to get the pain to subside by healing the colon. Are you on any medication? Have you had a course of prednisone?

I have heard of some people getting pain meds from their GI but mine would more likely give me something to calm the cramps and non-narcotic.

Yes I'm on asacol hd 3 times a day. My GI also doesnt believe in pain meds either but my gen DoC does. He's prescribed me T3's but there not working as well as he thought and doesn't feel comfortable prescribing more. So I'm going to a pain management doc. Just wanted to know what some people were prescribed so I know what I'm talking about with him.

Where exactly is the pain you're having?

Are you flaring at this point?

I have good success with antispasmodics, fibre supplements and probiotics.

I just have pain in my mid to lower stomach region. Im not flaring right now, but am in pain a lot no matter what i do. I also take probiotics. They all help a great amount its just sometimes my stomach will hurt and i cant go to sleep at night.

I really don't like narcotic pain meds. They constipate me and plus I am allergic to many of them. I find relief in taking Bentyl which is an anti-spasmodic. It helps ease the cramping. But in the past I have taken Darvocet - but they took that off the market. My GI has offered me Ultram for pain (but I can't take that either because I am allergic).

What other UC meds are you using?

Sounds like you might have reflux as well.

I take codeine sulfate 30 mg 3 x day. They constipate me which is great since I go several times a day! I have pain still but they help. In the past Ive taken tramadol and vicodin as well. Codeine just constipates me better :)

there is something in my country is called epirax - it contains cloradiazepoxide.
i found it verry helpfull last year.

also there is trimebutine - Ibutin in romania - wich is also helpfull for related colits pain.

I took Darvocet until it was taken off the market. I now take Vicodin. I don't take it often but it really help me when I have really bad days. It also calms my stomach and will allow me to sleep hours which also makes me feel better. Rest is very helpful.
