This is the third time I've gotten itchy bumps on my neck and jaw. The last two times they went away within a week. This time, I also have a few on my stomach.

Any chance this is a side effect of Asacol? I've been on Asacol for four years and didn't have problems before. A bit of itchiness when I first started, but I seemed to get over it quickly.

I am currently on 9 asacol/day and nightly enemas. I also take supplements (and have been for years) - fish oil, probiotics, multi-vitamin, calcium, magnesium, B100, Vitamin E, EsterC.

It might be an allergic reaction to something beside the Asacol. Have you used any new creams, heavy creams, new foods, new supplements...anything that coincides with the rash?

No changes that I can think of.

I have an appointment with my dermatologist for a check up on Friday. I'll have to see what he thinks.

Good idea. Btw, with allergic reactions they can occur at anytime with no rhyme nor reason. I was on 6mp for over a year before my body started breaking out in random, short lived hives. I will get an all over body rash and then it would be gone the next day. I have never been able to pinpoint exactly why until one doctor mentioned that it could possibly be my 6mp. I also have a permanent peri-oral dermatitis around my nose and chin because of 6mp.

Could it be heat rash?
I have recently had a reaction similar when I started Amitriptyline. I get these little red bumps that itch like mad!
Let us know what the dermatologist says.

The dermatologist thinks that it's poison ivy. Odd since it starts on my neck, but hopefully he's right!

Interesting...did he put you on a short course of prednisone for it?

Were you in the woods or an area that would have poison ivy? The oil from the plant can stay on clothes, maybe you touched it and then brushed away hair or bugs, etc...

No prednisone, just a topical prescription.

No, I haven't been in the woods. I think the only place I could have gotten it was my yard or the golf course.
