I saw a thread that discussed itching and remicade. I am trying to figure out if my itching is from Remicade. I have been on it for 2 years now. I recently pushed my luck (I will never do this again) and went to my infusion 4 to 6 days late cause of work. Anyway since then I've had a minor flare (incontinence no blood though) and now I am itching like crazy. I had this itching a couple months ago and never figured out what is was. It finally went away with after lots of creams and allergy meds. Anyway now I'm wondering could this be due to my remicade? Other than these past two itching incidents I've not had this issue ever in my life:(

It could be...I would definately mention it to your dr. I had and allergic reaction to the Remicade with a lot of itching but it happened almost imediately after the start of the infusion.

Thanks Bye Bye UC,

I am also wondering if my liver is having issues from the Remicade. I read that a symptom of liver issues can be itching. I see my GI on Monday.

By the way I'm happy to hear about your surgery success. I want to have the J Pouch more and more after hearing stories like yours.

I itch like crazy.  I take zyrtex once a day every day since starting remicade.  I forgot to take it the other night and the next day I paid for it.  I was itching non stop like crazy and they I get a rash.  I think mine is from the remicade cause I never had it before starting it.  I'm fine as long as I take the zyrtex.
