I am a 19 year old male who is experiences hair loss/thinning and i believe it started happening a little after a month of starting remicade and imuran. Has anyone else experienced hair thinning/loss from imuran or remicade? Is there a way to stop this hair thinning which is above my sideburns. Would stopping these medications stop it?

My 20 y.o. daughter is on Remicade and Imuran and she experienced hair thinning, but we think it was more related to a late reaction to a terrible flare (hospitalized and lost 20lbs). I got her some minoxidil but she did not use it as it seemed to correct itself. But now her hair is breaking off. In fact, the breakage is so noticeable, I got her extensions for her birthday last week.

Wondering if your thinning might be from the stress of being ill a few months earlier? You could ask your Dr. if minoxidil/Rogaine might help.

yeah i guess that could be the case too, i was hospitalized for a few weeks and lost 30 lbs about 2 months ago, got out like a month ago. but i dont think it is from that for some reason
