I wasn't sure which of your posts to respond to so I just used this one. Officially I was diagnosed in '94 but I had it since '92 (right after the birth of my son) - so 20 years.

I had to fight for my diagnosis. My old primary care Dr. was useless. She told me my symptoms were from eating Wow potato chips, now these had olestra in them and are now off the market b/c I think they did cause issues. However, my Mom had UC so I just knew it. Anyhoo, I began bleeding and having toilet bowls full of blood, I called the GI office to make an appt and they wanted me to wait three months. I doubt I would have made it with all the blood loss I had, I am sure something bad would have happened. They got me in the next day.....

Got it diagnosed in 2009 when I was 35. Didn't really have symptoms before that.

I was diagnosed with proctitis in Dec 2010 at age 21. Had symptoms off and on for quite a while before then. Progressed to UC now.

Diagnosed in 1989 at age 34. Definitely had symptoms for almost 3 years prior. The timing was right, however, considering the medication options I had AND the doctor I was referred to..thankfully!!

November 1986 in my senior year of high school. Docs didn't diagnose it after three months of cramping bloody D and losing 40lbs so I ended up in the hospital. My docs later told my mom I was in such bad shape they weren't sure I was going to make it through the first night @ the hospital. Once I was stabilized, they did a colonoscopy and saw severe inflammation from the rectum to the limit of the scope (ie my entire large intestine). It was two months of Pred & Sulfa before I returned to school.
Did a fecal transplant in January and I'm tapering off all my meds. So far so good.

May of 2005 when I was 33 yrs old.
I had been traveling in Asia 4 months previous to the diagnosis so they were convinced I had some type of stomach bug. A colonoscopy confirmed the Pancolitis diagnosis. My symptoms were swift and severe with 20+ trips to the bathroom a day. No one in my family has digestive issues and I had no symptoms before this. I did smoke for 15 years and had cut down to being a social/causal smoker at the time of diagnosis. Now I wonder if this had something to do with it???

It will be 5 years this summer for my daughter and 10 for my son. Hard to believe on both counts. Thankfully at this time they are both doing well. Summer seems to be flare time for us, but I'm hoping...
Thanks for remembering us and asking about
the kiddos!!

Diagnosed April 2011 about a month after the birth of my son.
However I had IBS-like symptoms since 2005 but they were mild and if i ate right i kept them at bay; usually adequate fibre in my diet and going regularly everyday did the trick.
However in 2007 had a 5 week gasto (although alls tool tests returned negative) so now suspect it was a flare -it went away on its own through a gluten free diet.
Then just before getting pregnant was getting funny symptoms again...then got pregnant and things got really bad in the first trimester but thankfully settled gradually... then after giving birth BAM literally overnight symptoms started and the cramping was bad, and quite painful. Then a hospital stay and then came the diagnosis.
