Started going into a light flare a few weeks ago, i think my colonoscopy kicked it up a bit, showed 90% mild inflamation. Up until 2 days ago i was going 1-2 times a day mostly formed with the horrible smelling gas. Now im seeing a lot of blood and feeling the urgency starting with D every time. Still on asacol, 6mp, vsl3ds, mesalamine enemas, hydrocortisone sups. Just called my gi to start on a small course of pred and get entocort enemas. If the steroids dont help im sure she will say remicade. I was doing so good this year too. Any suggestions? I usually dont flare till around the winter. Totally was not ready for this :(

I don't have any suggestions but I'm crossing my fingers and sending lots of positive energy. Hopefully the pred will kick in quickly and everything will ease up.

You're definitely in a situation that you're giving the meds you're on a fair go.

I hope the meds will kick in and get you back on track.

Did you get the results of your scope? Was it a recent scope and again after the one you had in December 2012?

Q..i have not gotten results from this last one, i see doc on the 13th. It got pretty bad earlier though. I was on the toilet for at least 25 minutes with enough urgency where i couldnt get up. Had heavy tingles from my feet to my thighs an felt like i was going to pass out, never had that happen. Had my phone on 911 ready to call. Maybe it was a little panic attack but idunno i mean im used to this stuff and its been worse.

As much as I hate pred and will do everything I can to not take it again, it does have its place and right now is it. Sounds like you've got it rough right now. I hate it when your doing everything right and this happens.

CadillacLover...maybe it was, but it's more than possible it's related to blood pressure or electolyte imbalance. Oh, and the sheer pain of going that long....

How are you feeling at this point?

Did you have c.diff in the past?

How are you eating? getting in enough protein/carbs for energy?

I hope the doc called in the script for you.

I remember having episodes that I felt very faint, especially the first few years. I had to lie down with my feet above my heart. I never did check my blood pressure, but when I ws as the docs, it was always fine.

Yesterday i only went twice. Im not going a whole lot and i dont feel warn out, but this flare did just start getting bad a few days ago. I drank a good amount of beer on the 4th of july. I dont drink very often so i think that and all the bbq/junk might of done me in. I went a couple times this morning, first D then chunks of stool and a little bit of blood, nothing like yesterday though. I think i might start on a 20 day pred taper today. Finally got my doc to send in the rx. Below my belly button is really tender/sore at times. Never had cdiff and yea ive been eating pretty basic. I kind of dont want to start pred but it is only 20mg. Ive started at 60 in the past. Have not been on pred in about 10 months. Im suppose to drive for 5 hours on wed to pick up my daughter.
