I'm still having a freakout but it's waned a lot as I've been tapering the prednisone. BUT WHO WANTS TO SEE MY NEW KITCHEN?

I'm going to switch the cabinet doors so that the open shelf and short doors are on the window side and the full length doors are on the refrigerator side, but this is basically done..

Looks pretty, huh? I look back now and wonder how I lived with it before.

It looks awesome! The paint really brightens it up and makes the space look bigger!

It's so crazy -- there's actually far less space in the kitchen now, but it just looks SO much better that I think it tricks the eye.

I'm going to get seat cushions made for the banquette. When they put the granite top on it, they raised it by about an inch so now it feels too high, like I'm a child LOL

Also, the granite countertop & tabletop, and the tile floor makes the room echo so my cats love to go in there and yell LOL

LOL are you asking whether my building has settled quite a bit in the last 100 years? Yes, it really has. If you put a marble on the floor, it will roll until it hits something. And the bathtub drain is on the uphill side of the building so I have to squeegee the tub after a shower or my cats get mad at me.

But that kitchen window, for all its faults, is a great joy in my life. When the moon is full, the whole kitchen lights up in a way that isn't true for any other window in my apartment. The banquette side of the window is on the east/west trajectory and the sink side of the window is north/south. :-)
