CMV is also connected with UC,if people have concurrent disease it is much worse. As you may also know there is a MAP connection,to IBD.

Anyhow perhaps this is a reason coconut oil helps some people.
Monolaurin is glycerol monolaurate,coconut oil has a high percentage of
glycerol tri-laurate,which I suspect somewhere in the process of digestion
will breakdown into the monolaurate at least for a short period of time.
As far as I know I do not have any herpes but did have mono in 1971,UC
arrived in 1980. Current IBD theory is centered around bacteria,but who knows for sure.
Will have to look into virus infections and IBD at bit more.
