I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty, quincy. It's so sad to lose a pet.

I agree they are very comforting. I already feel happier just having her here and I look forward to coming home to see her.

There is another cat on my doorstep! Adult female, white with gorgeous blue eyes. I heard meowing, waited a few minutes and she wouldn't stop, so I went outside. The cat will not leave. She's been sitting out there meowing for 10 minutes. I gave her some food which probably wasn't smart...

That's what I was wondering but I don't think moms come back for their kittens, do they? They saw each other though when I opened the door and Pumpkin got scared. Pumpkin is freaked out because she can hear this cat meowing on the other side of the door. I really can't take in another cat.

She looks really healthy and was purring and being really affectionate when I went out and petted her. She tries to run in my apartment when I open the door even a crack, like she thinks it's her home or something. It's a bit chilly today...not too bad...probably low 50s.

I left to go to the mall and the cat followed me downstairs. When I got back, she was gone. Yay. Cannot deal with another cat. Hope she doesn't come back.

Sara, it makes me wonder whether some other resident in your apt. complex is either dumping pets or moved there recently from more rural area & believes in letting the cat out at night. Some people have a very casual attitude toward cats especially-- figuring that it's "normal" for them to roam around & mouse. But they really don't know how to fend for themselves unless they stay several months with a mother cat who forages. / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

Since we are on this topic-anyone who has cats found that their males have been more affectionate than their females? My males (that of course are no longer with me) were major lap cats and my females not so much.

 

 

Nah, I have a female cat and she's super affectionate, my daughter moved back in this summer and brought her male cat (neutered) and he's super affectionate as well, so it's not necessarily a male-female thing, it's just each cat's personality cuz we used to have another female and she wasn't very affectionate at all, only with the kids from time to time, otherwise she liked to keep to herself....just their individual personality is all.

Oh no Sara!! I hope she has a good home. You have your hands full with one little one.

Love4cats -- kitty angel...i like that! Thanks! This is an old thread from a year ago. I actually did have another kitten show up at my doorstep about a month ago. Little black kitten about 4 wks old. I named him Jack (short for Jack-o-lantern :) With the help of my neighbor, I found him a home. I wanted to keep him but Pumpkin hated him and my allergies would've most likely been terrible with two cats.

Yeah...this is not my state. I cant wait to move away.
