pills and metamucil

is it ok to take mesalamine pills and then metamucil shortly after? i'm just wondering if the metamucil doesn't let the pills dissolve in the colon if I take it too quickly.

I take the metamucil with my meals. In the morning I take my meds about a half hour later.

Since the mesalamine meds are coated to release in the terminal ileum/colon...it won't be affected by food or the metamucil since it's fibre part of the food.

I take metamucil powder that is mixed with water and never with my meds. Its turns jelly like and I would think that the medication woould have a hard time breaking down if it was caught in the jell.
