Flagyl ugh...

My GI who refused to even hear about Uceris..decided to put me on flagyl, oh my goodness, I have had worse D than I had before going to see him! Is this normal? I was feeling better once I stopped yogurt..then I got his with this stuff...I'm itchy, crabby, anxiety..normal?

Flagyl gives me a lot of bad side effects, dizziness, headaches, metallic taste in my mouth. I think it's all pretty common and there are probably a lot more side effects that I haven't gotten. Why did your GI say no to Uceris? Are you taking flagyl tablets of EC? I got some the other day that were coated. I ordered from Canada. Weird how it's a regular tablet here but coated tablets exist elsewhere. Just seems like EC makes more sense with something like Flagyl, this way you can control the amount that goes into your system throughout the day.

I think if it made me worse then before I would stop it.

i was just on flagyl for 6 days for my c diff. i don't think i had any bad side effects- my severe itchiness/hives could be from it but i was on vancomycin too and that causes those problems as well. also had thrush which i'm sure is mostly from the antibiotics. but yeah, the taste is HORRENDOUS. i had to brush my teeth after every dosage because i would've thrown up from the taste lingering in my mouth. blehhhh.
