Anybody taking Uceris yet? How is it working? Side effects?

Some new drug that is supposed to help UC like prednisone only without all the side effects.

Never heard of it, but thanks for telling me about it now i have something to bug my doctor about :)

I've been taking it for a week and it's made a big difference. My doctor said the suggested amount of time to stay on it is 8 weeks but since I'm noticing improvement so quickly, he's only going to keep me on it for another month. I can't believe how much it's helping and without the awful side effects of Prednisone.

Hi LOLoin NJ,
Just curious where in NJ you are and if you like your GI. I am in Central NJ and always keep an ear out for a good doc...so if you don't mind sharing.

So glad the Uceris is helping...sounds like a great Pred alternative. I am impressed your Dr. is on top of the new drug...seems not all are.

I am in Morris county and my doctor is Dr. Matthew Krupnick. He has offices in Denville and Dover. I highly recommend him! I called him today with a question and he called me back in less than an hour! He's always in top of the newest treatments and has a great bedside manner. I feel confident that he is always helping me as an individual and not just another patient. He's worth the trip!

Uceris is endocort w/ better delivery system so it is targeted properly. I'm curious about the 8 week sugested time frame since I've been on endocort for a yr & how would it be any different staying on Uceris?
