hi, i have colitis, i am so itchy all over my face and body. I don't know why this has come around again. I saw a specialist and he didn't know. My GI specialist has never come across it. I'm thinking it might be the 6mp, but the itching was around even when on methotrexate. I doubt it's diet related, have stopped dairy/gluten intake. I don't know anymore, it's driving me nuts, such a nuisance and there is absolutely no redness etc anywhere. Anyone have this problem?? My brother thinks it might be iron or liver related, the routine tests for those are good.

I had this in the beginning with Remicade. Anti-allergy meds helped with that. I normally don't have allergies.

How are your liver enzyme tests? Hope the doc is doing them?

What quincy said. Keep a close eye on liver enzymes. Itching was the first symptom that lead to me spending a week in hospital with serious liver problems on Azathioprine.

itching is one of my biggest problems. i have chronic utacaria and have never really known what it's from. it gets much worse when i react to a medication or develop an intolerance to something.

I agree get your liver enzymes checked. 

My enzymes had always been ok until my GI switched me to MEZAVANT and I had many side effects and ones was extremely itchy skin. 

Noone including my Gi ever related it to the medication and so I took it upon myself to stop it and go back to Salofalk which I was on previously. 

Well the itching stopped. 

 My enzymes have gone down not normal yet but much better.
