hey joanna - i would suggest having an "accident" in one of your friends cars - maybe that would help with the education !

My father told me he and mom had the 24 hour flu and it was horrible because they both threw up and had diarrhea. I just told them don't complain to me unless you've had diarrhea at least 12-20 times within a 24 hour period, as that was me during the start of my most recent uc flare. Of course they didn't and that shut them up pretty quickly about it haha. They tend to go into a lot of detail about every little aspect of being sick so I didn't want to hear all of the sordid details anyways

I've had liquid diarrhea since 2010. Try that Keeps me thin! I do have to drink all the dang time though and make sure I eat even when I don't want to. Thats life for UC. I would do anything to miss my morning BM! That would be a miracle for me.

You can't be inducted into the UC hall of fame until you poo your pants. Find a good place in public and just let it rip, make those funny faces, yes, you must. All I have to say is I am kind of thankful my car is smooth leather - easy to clean.

I'm relatively new to this blog, but I was diagnosed with uc in 2009. Went the sulfasalazine/prednisone route til that didn't work anymore. Last year in the hosp for 6 weeks and have become an expert ever since. I'm on humira now, was on remicade last yr until I became allergic to it in 12/12. I found to med assistance companies that helped me get patient assistance for my meds. They are BIOPLUS SPECIALTY PHARMACY. They helped me to get Humira thru the ABBVIE Foundation at no cost; & NORD thru which I got VSL#3HD, a prescription required probiotic at no cost as well. It is based on income in both cases. I'm 74 and my husband and I are on social security and a small pension, so it was easy to qualify. It might be worth others checking either or both of these entities out.

Currently on 4800 mg of Asacol HD daily, prednisone at 5mg and 2.5mg alternating days, weanisng off of prednisone; humira 40 mg. injection every other week; dicyclomene 4X/day; before breakfast- VSL#3HD pkt/daily (has 900 billion little buggers).
