Has anyone had hives while tapering steroids (entocort in particular)? I just finished my last dose today, but have been tapering for 2 weeks now. And have hives for the last week. It's driving me nuts!

I figured I'd recycle an old thread rather than start a new one...
So...

I just finished a prednisone taper last Friday 7/26.

Took 40 mg of Pred since 4/27. Started taper on 7/13 tapered to 30mg for a week, then 20mg for a week.

I've been taking azathioprine since 6/8

Fast forward to Tuesday 7/30, my neck was a little itchy. I didn't think much of it just scratched away. 7/31 I noticed my arms looked a little bumpy. They weren't too bad until about midnight 8/1 now I'm scratching and it definitely looks like hives.

I've read hives can be a side effect of azathioprine. Just curious if it could be that the prednisone was preventing the hives and now that it's pretty much out of my system that that's why I'm starting to experience this side effect now.

Also had a migraine today, could be unrelated.
I know it may not be the azathioprine causing any of this, just thought I'd get some input incase any of you have had similar experiences.

Also taking Apriso and 25 mg of amitriptyline.

Sairy-I would tell your doctor about this side effect. Pred does help to tamper down hives so now that your not taking them is the reason for the hives.
