:) - hey whatever works for you.
I will say that the minute I put a good layer of the cream on, I had instant relief. This may sound gross but I wanted to walk around w/o clothes, and I am usually a freeze cat, let me tell you and definitely a modest person but I knew air would help heal me. (of course I did put clothes on, but made sure they were cotton underwear and loose fitting shorts (this was summer). I don't think you want to trap air in, in fact if you get the cream, and want to nap, I would skip bottoms and let air reach this area under the sheets. Of course your sheets will become a mess. But the important thing is to feel relief.
I am a mother of two daughters in their 20s now and my experience with a raw bottom last summer reminded me of when they'd get severe diaper rash. The Pediatrician would say try to let the baby go without a diaper for a while. You do want air to surround the area, not trap the air in.
