This question is for the ladies-does anyone have excessive facial hair while on prednisone?   I've been planning of getting laser hair removal on  my face and neck  while im still taking pred and imuran  , its gotten worse!!!! Ugggh!!!! ... has anyone done this ....or have some kind of advice ????

Yes! I always get excessive facial hair on pred. I get tons of blondish peach fuzz and usually just cut it with scissors. This time it's been so bad I ran a disposable razor gently over my jaw line.

So Do u think geting a lazer treatment at this time will be good or bad idea?

Its a prednisone side effect. I noticed my body hair (male) get sort of coarse (not that they are smooth to begin with, still I feel the difference and DW calls me a bear!!). Once the Pred effect winds down, it will get back to normalcy.

Honestly, there are other side effects you should worry more about than facial hairs.

I didn't have a problem with it, but it is a common side effect of pred. I don't think it would be worthwhile to try laser hair removal, as it should go away once you're off it, and the hair might regrow anyway.

omg yes!!! i wouldnt go for the laser hair removal cause it goes away on its own

Once pred is out of your system, all the nasty side effects will go away on their own...I personally wouldn't mess with my facial hair for the fear of it getting worse (pred or no pred) lol

just use one of those tiny trimmer/shavers. It won't change the growth of the hair, but it'll keep your face smoother.

If you use wax, it can sometimes grow in a bit stronger until the follicle fatigues...but yours is hormone driven and should be temporary.

Use the shaver....

I bought a home wax warmer when I was on pred :) laser doesn't work in one time, you have to return over and over, sometimes 5 or 6 times before it's gone.
