Hemorrhoid People, pls advise

Sooo, I felt a little discomfort in the anal area.  I noticed it after a bm, but the bm did not hurt, did not have blood, no M, etc...  When I walked around after, it felt like something , well, we will say "shifted".   So I am not too knowledgeable about this stuff, but I take a look- see w/ a mirror.  Check the outside, see nothing....open it up a little and at the opening top of the hole see a smallish bump--maybe a little purple, not sure -hard to see up close. It is not painful but I am aware of it. Even aware now, not even close to a bm.

Questions....is this what a hemmie looks like?  If not, what else could it be...an abscess? growth?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...I am totally clueless about hemmies or other growths.

Sounds like a hemmie to me, too. Here in the land of TMI, I can tell you that I rarely look in the mirror to scope out my bottom. I usually do a fact finding mission with my fingers.

My favorite doctor these days is my rectal surgeon. He's such a doll. I went to see him a few months back and I keep mentioning it because it made a huge difference for me. I was afraid I might have a fissure -- I was having a lot of bleeding, and I was super inflamed and sore and I felt like I could never get my anus clean. He gave me three items that have changed my life.

They are:

Balneol -- this is great for cleansing. You put a little bit on TP and smear it around and then wipe it off with more TP. This is so much easier and more effective, I've found, than dampening TP or trying to use wipes.

Calmoseptine -- This is zinc oxide and menthol. It creates a moisture barrier so that your inflamed bits don't suffer more. It takes a little getting used to, but now whenever I have any discomfort, I use it. And I feel so much better. When I'm having a morning with a lot of urgency, as soon as there's a break in the action, I use the balneol and the calmoseptine, and it seems to really help.

Konsyl -- This very intense fiber supplement has really changed my whole bowel routine. My stool is mostly formed now, which is awesome, but I'm never constipated, which is in my opinion the worst case scenario -- to be constipated and constantly running to the toilet. I'm so much more like a normal person in my bowel habits now. I feel like I've been freed, for some period of time at least.

Anyway, the Konsyl is likely to prevent hemmies for me which in a way is too bad because I love my rectal surgeon so much.

Go see a nice butt doctor. I had a very dear friend die this year and it's because he put off having a hemmie taken care of for years and years and when he finally had it removed it was cancerous :-(

decisions decisions ! do I wanna look at my butt hole (and do i launch a frontal, rearal, or Chinese acrobat attack, and all the potential inhabitants therein, or do I go exploring with one of my 8 hand probes ? and if I choose the latter, which one (or worse, which ONES) and should I choose protection, or the more pleasurable all out there mode ????

I think these things are best left to the professionals !
