"...the cockles of my heart have been duly warmed" You aren't Kathy Bates are you?
I'm your number one fan... :p
@Evanescent Eden - Glad to have been of help! What you said about
the true self reminded me of the video game I'm currently playing. Are you into obscure Japanese RPGs by any chance? <_<. Anyway, the game is called Persona 4 Golden, and it's basically a murder mystery set in a small Japanese town. People are being murdered by being thrown into a TV set (don't ask); to
prevent a murder, our heroes have to jump into the TV world and go and rescue the kidnapped victim. In doing so, they have to defeat the victim's 'shadow' or 'true' self, but not without the shadow self spilling all the beans first.
It's better than I've perhaps made it sound... >_>. Anyway, it's a very weird (nobody can outweird the Japanese) but interesting take on how people hide their "true" selves from others.
@Gods love - Yeah, ideally, we'd all have somebody like your 22-year-old friend in our lives to vent to. But sometimes friendship can blossom from online talk. Like in real life, the vast majority of internet acquaintances will never become your friend, but just occasionally one will - and that makes it all worth it, really.
Thanks, gary and jano.
Think I'll go and play P4G now... >.>
