I met a lady today with Crohn's... Her husband did the craziest thing for her...

I met a lady today who has Chron's... In fact it get's really weird because it turns out she was actually my old neighbour (2 doors down) from when I was very, very young. Quite the coincidence. She and her husband love to drive - like those long random adventures through the countryside with no particular destination in mind. Because she has Crohn's when she has to go, she has to go, and this was impacting her adventures. In an effort to help her out her husband installed a portable toilet in the back of their SUV!!! I kid you not! Took the last row of seats out and just mounted the sucker right there. There's tinted windows all around and a screen to make it private so no one could tell from outside you were even using it. I'm not sure what to think about it to be honest, haha but I immediately thought of commuters... and people with long drives.... Was just to funny.

I still can't believe there was an actual toilet in the back....

I forgot to ask what about the noises!... but I guess when you've been married that long.... hahaha Or perhaps one could just turn the music up real loud for a bit. I'll have to ask next time I see her.

I want one too, hate not being able to get early starts when going on trips - new business opportunity here for someone?!

Pb4!! Sorry I forgot it was you, but believe me, I was doing well to remember anyone at all... My memory has more holes in it than my emergency underwear.

LOL Serenity don't even worry about it, I'm in the exact same boat as you when it comes to the memory thing (it really sucks eh!) besides, it's not like I talk about it all the time lol, I've mentioned only when people post about their commuting issues...especially those that drive a lot for their job (travelling sales and such).

My husband actually helped me come up with the idea when I said god I wish I could leave the house (I went through repeated times of clusters of years where I was literally housebound thanks to my CD) I had a 1999 Ford Taurus and I loved that car but about 2 yrs after getting it I got badly housebound so we sold it to our in-laws and bought the Ford Windstar sport....I call it my "potty-van" as opposed to my party-van lol!!

And I will mention as well, my hubby continues to drive as I do my thing, the smell isn't usually bad enough to warrant him having to get out of the van until I'm done, and the back windows open at an angle so I'd just get him to open one or both and do my thing with no one on the road being the wiser about what was going on...thank goodness for legal tinted back windows hahhaha!

Nothing like crapping while driving...speed bumps actually serve a purpose with some of those moments (like when I need that little extra help to get some "stuff" out) lol!

Yup lol, often there's this one little turd that just loves to hang there so the speed bumps come in handy for that, and if we're not near any I ask hubby to hit the break harder than usual...that'll do the trick too!!

My mom used to have terrible IBS (maybe-I guess it's debatable if that's even a 'thing'), anyway, we had a customized van and it had a potty in the back. She's even had to use plastic strawberry buckets before when in other cars. You do what you have to do I guess.

It's a great idea. I've considered it myself-for piece of mind. Part of the reason I love camping season! We pull our trailer (with full bathroom!) behind us down the highway. Hubby just pulls over if I have to go. He told me that if I get so bad that I need even more access to the crapper then we will sell or trailer and buy an RV model where I can walk from the front cockpit section right to the bathroom, no pulling over necessary

Wasnt it Christine? I think she finally had surgery, she was in bad shape.
