Blood Test Results---Neutrophils high

I just got the results from my last CBC back.  The only thing out of standard range is Neutrophils.  I pasted my result below. Not 100% sure what this means.  Is it elevated due to a high level of inflammation?

Neutrophils are the body's first line of defence against bacterial infection. Its normal for them to be elevated in UC, and I believe there is a massive infiltration of neutrophils in the inflamed tissue of UC patients. I wouldnt be too concerned if I were you

That's a rather insignificant elevation. As an indicator of an active infection you would expect to see > 10,000 polymorphonuclear cells, which are typically the most prevalent of the white blood cells. Also important are the relative %ages of WBCs and the (im)maturity noted on a report. More immature neutrophils (referred to as bands) are indicative of an infection.

Neutrophils are one of the 3 common granulocytic line of WBCs, the others being (histamine containing) basophils and eosinophils (commonly elevated in parasitic infections). In decreasing numbers of WBCs are lymphocytes and monocytes.

Another rather general assessment of general inflammatory process is the RBC sedimentation rate.

I've always had low Lymphocytes and no one has been able to tell me why. I've wondered if there is a link between Lymphocyte count and UC.

In japan they can stop a flare and cause 2 year remission by filtering them out of blood, body make more quickly but new ones are not programmed to attack colon.
