GI office

When I'm in the waiting room at my GI's office I often scan the other patients and wonder if they're "one of us" or just some lucky bugger with gerd or something. Well, the last visit I Arrived about 15 minutes early, sat down and began browsing a magazine *gurgle* hmm, I might have to poop.... *GURGLE* yup, I've gotta poop, no way I can hold it for the 15 minute wait plus the actual appointment. So I scurry out the door while mumbling something about being right back to the front desk gal. When I came back, I sat down and was waiting, a guy came in with a woman. He checked in and they wandered over to the sitting area.... The woman sat down but the guy stood there just kinda motionless, like he was trying very hard to calculate a complex calculus problem....then he turns, walks back to the front desk and asks where the bathroom is, then scurries out. ****. I thought to myself...one of us...one of us. Clearly he was doing the same calculations I was..hmm, can I hold this poop? Yes...maybe? Lol.

On my very first visit to my GI's office I had to use the bathroom. I thought, wow, this is a nice bathroom! Lots of stalls, spaced out, doors right to the floor so you can't see feet under the stall. I said, now this is a guy who knows his patients. Hee hee

Anyone in the gastroenterology waiting room who was in their 20s or 30s I assumed was likely to have UC or Crohn's. Middle-aged or elderly: it's more likely to be diverticulitis, colon cancer, piles.

The GI department in our hospital looks like it belongs in a soviet-era building, albeit one which has had a lick of the dingiest yellow paint imaginable. There is a disabled toilet nearby, which not many people seem to know about, since it's always empty. It's basic but clean and spacious and well-stocked. I know where all the out of the way toilets are in the main hospital building: sod using the reception toilets.

Like Marauder's, my GI shares the building with other physicians and keeps the door locked. It's also about 100ft down the hall.
I'm not looking forward to the day when I have to have the girls at reception throw the key over the counter while I sprint down the hallway.

My GIs office is in a clinic/hospital that is just a couple years old. Their are two bathrooms in their suite/office and another one right down the hallway (a public one in the main hospital hallway) if I am waiting. Oddly I've never had to use the bathroom while waiting which is very weird, but I always take 3 Immodium ADs in the morning before I leave for the Dr and that seems to help sometimes.

Also the waiting time is always <5 minutes.

My GI's office is in a very old hospital. There is one toilet, a disabled one, yucky, right in the middle of the corridor, with a sign saying 'please take care when opening the door as there is a danger of the door hitting and injuring people'.

Not fun!
