It's not your fault and I know it sucks I threw away a few pairs of underwear in my day.
Perhaps trying the steroid rectal meds may help with some urgency, also for me personally diet also played a role in keeping my urgency down some, if I ate the wrong foods I knew about
it later!
I have no idea if this would help a UCER as I never knew about
them then, but it does a Jpoucher and that's Pelvic (Kegel) Exercises in which you strengthen the sphincter muscles, allowing you to sort of clench your cheeks and make it to the washroom a bit easier:
"Tighten your sphincter muscles as if you are stopping a bowel movement. While squeezing tightly, hold for a count of ten; then relax for a count of ten. This constitutes one step. Repeat this exercise ten times to equal one set.
You should complete six to ten sets a day, or as prescribed by your doctor.
These may be performed any time during the day, and while you are in any position -- sitting, standing or lying down. Also, since they require no special positioning, you may do them while working at any
location, while driving in your car, or even while watching television"
I currently have a Jpouch but I swear the only thing that kept me going until surgery was adding cooked spinach and sunflower seeds to my diet that you can read about
on here, I recommend at least giving it a try as you have nothing to lose.
Anyways, there is light at the end of the tunnel, whether it be diet, a new medication or even surgery I promise there will be a time when you no longer worry about
'crapping your pants' when you go out. =)
