I want to share my success with Trichuris suis ova/pig whipworm (TSO) for ulcerative colitis. I have had UC for ten years. Since 2004, I have struggled to find a safe and effective medicine to improve my health. In 2012, I found out about
TSO and read scientific studies about
helminthes (thanks, in part, to healingwell). In the middle of 2013, I began taking TSO. For four months, from July through October 2013, I took TSO 2,500 every two weeks with very modest improvements. For ten months, from November 2013 until September 2014, I took TSO 2,500 weekly and saw slow and steady improvements. In July 2014, after eight months on the weekly dose I had a colonoscopy that show reduced inflammation. In September 2014, after four months on the every two weeks dose and ten months on a weekly dose (14 months total), I entered remission! I have been in remission for five months and have continued with the weekly dose. I am very happy with the safety and effectiveness of TSO and tell family, friends and acquaintances. TSO has greatly improved my health and I’m glad that I had the patience and finances to see steady improvements (TSO, despite the recent price decrease is still very expensive). Colitis slowly developed ten years ago, so too, TSO slowly brought me into remission. I realize we live in a time of 'instant' and 'convenience,' but for me, TSO took time to improve my health.
My personality tends towards patience, but even despite this, I had a few times when I became very frustrated with the slow progress with TSO: after six months and after nine months. Ultimately, I believed in the evolutionary thesis behind TSO, was impressed with the many human and animal studies and continued the treatment. I wanted to share my story because this message board was a great resource and encouraged me when I was really struggling with my health.
For those interested in reading about
Trichuris Suis Ova/Pig Whipworm, I think the most accessible and condensed overview is Dr. Weinstock's November 2012 piece in Nature (science journal)--3 pages:
