Hi all:
I'm tapering Pred...I'm on 10mg now...I take that and my Lialda at 7:45am...and 2 Lialda at night.
I've started the SCD diet and I have the probiotic, prozyme (enzymes) and a vitamin. When do I take all these? On the enzymes and vitamins it says with meals but is it ok to take all those together? I don't want to cancel anything out.
I used to take my probiotic at night with my Lialda. Does that make sense?
Any help is appreciated!!

The only thing that really matters is the vitamins in terms of timing. You probably shouldnt be on enzymes, there is evidence that they actually make UC worse.

Which probiotic do you take?

Ok...then when to take the vitamins?
And yes, I've read enzymes help...enzymes don't help...enzymes make things worse...who knows really?? I got the SCD legal ones and they recommend so I'm going to try. I will stop them if they make things worse.
I also got the SCD legal probiotic L. Acidophilus. Bifidus is not allowed at first...later they can be incorporated.

I cannot imagine the timing makes any difference. I'm not familiar with the enzymes, but everything else I'd take all at once. You can always experiment, and try different times.

The thing is that there are several different types of enzymes. Some UC'rs need some and not others and vice versa. Some UC'rs may not need any enzymes and some enzymes could make you worse. It's hard to take something called enzymes because you don't really know which kind you might need or not. I took some protease enzymes once after doing a lot of research on it and they immediately made me much, much worse. I had to immediately stop them they were so bad. I now take the digestive enzyme DAO because my body is low on it, which gives me a histamine intolerance to foods high in histamines.

I'm not sure about
the enzymes but I don't take Magnesium and Calcium together as they interact with each other. Also I make sure to take iron and Vitamin C together as Vitamin C helps absorb the iron. When taking iron or eating meat I make sure not to drink any coffee or milk as it disturbs the absorption of iron.

I take my probiotics in the morning before anything else goes into my stomach. I take 2 Lialda's in the morning. The rest of my meds I take at night.
I used to take enzymes but they made my symptoms much worse.

I take enteric coated probiotics at bedtime, an hour after my meds.
Enzymes with supper depending on what I eat.
Fibre with brunch and supper.
Meds and vitamins in the morning about
a half hour after eating (and fibre).
Meds and vitamins in the late evening an hour before the probiotics.
The probiotic won't conflict with the Lialda, they both do separate things at different rates.
