I had mine done at 50,surgery was a piece of cake, via lapro.
My full recovery was about
9-10 days,mostly muscle soreness,colon adapted well,after say 3 or 4 days.
Out over night from hospital.
Wife recovered in a day or two,but she does not have UC.
Friend was out the same day, recovered quick.
Don't have any issues from uncontrolled bile into colon that I know of.
But as you may have read no gall bladder is associated with increased risk of colon cancer.
Just be glad this is not 30 years ago where they did
open surgery, another friend took 6 weeks to
recover from that.
I don't usually go near doctors much let alone surgeons, but the gall bladder had to go and fast.
Exquisite pain.
