Remission (clinical or symptomatic) is an absence of uc symptoms. 1-2 solid bms a day without urgency, pain or any similar uc symptoms. When you're in remission there is no question about it, so there is no reason to ask: am I in it? You go about your days without thinking/worrying about uc or suffering due to it.
I thought remission was a fairytale, took me 2.5 years to achieve it (some take less time, others longer). I'm almost a year in remission now. Some go 6-8 years or more in remission. However, uc is known to have periods of remission and flares, so uc will rear it's ugly head again, just hope it's a long, long vacation from it.
