I have not been on this forum for quite a while because I was in remission and feeling much better. Several years ago there was a Forum Moderator named Shrek-Chewbacca Hunk. Do any of you veterans know what happened to him? Last I knew he had the surgery and was sporting a new Ostomy.

Shrek passed away several years ago. He was a big loss for our community.

I was afraid of that. He sure did all he could to beat this awful disease.

He committed suicide. While he had many health diseases, he dealt with grace.....but his spirit broke from the distress of personal issues. I will never forget that day.....I truly miss him.

I miss him as well. The forum was shocked and in mourning of his passing. I still think about him to this day. He was truly a gentle soul with a heart of gold.

Heartbreaking :( I remember him but I don't remember his passing, might have blocked the whole knowledge of it cuz from what I recall I haven't missed that much time away from here and his name wrung a bell as soon as I saw it here. Glad he's no longer suffering in any way now.

He had several health issues in addition to the new ostomy, had major surgery on his legs due to Charcot's disease & also had become diabetic. Was wheelchair-bound as I recall, after the leg surgery, & his nagging MIL broke his spirit, finally, it seemed. Very tragic ending that really upset everyone then active on the Forum. His widow did write us some months after his death to thank UC members for yrs of support. / Old Hat (34 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)
