Haven't heard of anyone going back to smoking and their UC going into remission.
Let us know how this goes please, there are many people in your shoes.
My story is that I quit smoking and started vaping in Feb.'11 and tapered my nic down to zero by late Nov. My UC flared then and I took my nic up to 12mg/ml and went on Lialda ( common Mesalamine, normal dosage).
Took a few weeks to heal, then I was fine for 2 yrs.
Went on Remicade a bit later and feeling pretty good now, a year later.
From what med stuff I've read, nic will help maintain remission but I've not seen that it'll put you into remission. That may be as easy as taking Lialda.
Who knows tho, everyone is different.
Please come back here tho and give feedback, it'd be great if we smokers' here could learn from each other!!
The medical community and even non smokers here can't understand or help us with our smoking choices, we need each other.
