Even if everything is visually all clear on the c-scope, the biopsies will show tell tale signs of IBD. Those cells will have abnormalities attributed to IBD, like thickened cell walls, have unusual gaps between them, the vascular (capillary pattern) will be irregular and not uniform. When cells live and grow in a hostile environment of inflammation they exhibit clear signs.
The colonoscopy might show slight red coloration (like a sun burn) in areas where you've had uc. Slight scaring is possible, as are really small polyps caused as inflammation heals.
Often, us IBDers never truly look normal under a c-scope or biopsy. Even when we're in a deep remission.
