My butt is so sore from the urgency! I feel like it's trying to put itself inside out. Hurts to actually sit! Argh. Any suggestions as to what to do to alieviate it? Not the outside skin, but the actual inside!!

I use Tuck pads (witch hazel) to wipe with during those times instead of toilet paper. It has been a Godsend! But also Preperation H suppositories can help with the internal. What meds are you on? Any rectal meds?

Steroid supps. Portable bidet. Calmoseptine.

nupercanal. outside, just inside, wherever. super stuff.

I get bile acid D sometimes because I have no valve between small and large intestines. It burnes, and nupercanal lets me sleep.

Olive oil alleviates the irritated skin a little for me.

Sorry, thought my signature had my meds. I'm on corto enemas, which help until mid day and then the urgency gets bad. I tried hemroid sups this am so hopefully that'll help.

What is nupercanal? And portable bidet?

Hot baths may not physically help, but they certainly make me feel better when my butt hurts from the constant urgencies. Hope you feel better soon. I feel your pain.

A bidet uses water to clean up after a bm. As toilet paper is abrasive and when we wipe many, many times during a day that can cause much irritation. I've also used wet wipes to clean up after bms, they're much easier on the bum and come in large canisters you can buy anywhere (grocery stores, pharmacies, big-box stores like Walmart) abd it usually has aloe and other good things to treat your irritated skin.

Generic Name: dibucaine (DIE-byoo-cane)
Brand Name: Nupercainal

Any 1% dubicane ointment or cream should work. The cream might be easier to spread and work a half-inch into the rectum, but it feel wetter.

Brands vary in cost, shop around. Buy multi-packs.

How many times a day are you going? You might want to increase your meds to treat the UC flare, that would be the best thing for the butt burn. Have you been on Remicade?

Use the bidet, wipe away the moisture (gently) and then put Calmoseptine barrier cream on to treat and prevent more burning from the next bm.

I had to have antibiotics one time and had such violent D afterwards for hours and hours. In the end my butt was so sore and swollen I could barely sit down, I was beside myself with worry thinking that I'd have to go to hospital for such an embarrassing, private problem. I ran myself a super hot sitz bath and lay in it for hours only to get out to go to the bathroom. Then back in. The swelling went down dramatically within half an hour of being in the hot bath. I'd seriously recommend it
