VSL3 takers...

When do you find is the best time to have it? Morning, evening, before food, after food?

i asked i doctor for probotics and they said best to take late at nightbefore bed, i have never taken vsl3.
how good does it work??

My previous experience with VSL-3 at first seemed to indicate a positive response. I took it for about a year and was mostly free of symptoms and did not flare. I took it religiously every morning prior to eating a small breakfast. After about a year I flared again, and despite taking the probiotic for another 5-6 months did not recover from the flare. Rectal steroids finally ended that flare for me.

Since then I have not flared (almost 2.5 years), have experienced only minor symptoms, and I have not bothered to re-order VSL-3, as in my experience it did not correlate with relief from symptoms or flare prevention. I wouldn't dissuade anyone else form taking it, but it is very expensive and the results are not guaranteed.

Oh no, sounds like it worked too well. I was hoping it would help. If you are too bunged up, you could try benefiber and/or psyllium husk tablets as they are really good at moving things along without being too aggressive.
