Hi! I posted awhile ago, and took everyone's advice to ask about rectal meds. My appt isn't until the 15th, so they ran my labs and would then prescribe something. Everything came back normal, including lactoferrin which last time I had a flare was through the roof. The blood work looks normal too! Has this happened to anyone! I'm not imagining my symptoms!

What are your current uc symptoms (bms per day, urgency, any signs of blood?). What tests did they run, you say labs? Typical tests when our symptoms are worse are a stool test to look for pathogenic causes, a colonoscopy or flexible-sigmoidoscopy. Alternatively, a test for body-wide inflammation like a CRP bloodtest or a fecal calprotein stool test.

CBC, c-reactive and lactoferrin stool test.

Blood, urgency first thing in the morning, mucous, cramping on and off.

During my first and worse flare my blood work was all fine except the WBC was very high. I don't put alot of stock in labs sometimes. You know how you fell.

I've had clear labs so many times and still had severe symptoms (and moderate/severe pathology to confirm there was inflammation and it wasn't IBS or something other than my UC - which the doctors would always try to insist). Not everyone gets clear markers in their blood work. Once I had a calprotectin that was low when I had inflammation.
