flu shot on Entyvio?

I'm well into my Entyvio treatments...I think I read somewhere not to get a flu shot. Does anyone know if that's correct?

Flu shots are just fine on biologics. I got mine last week. Just make sure to get the killed shot, mine was a shot in the arm. The live virus is not recommended for those on biologics, it's needle free and often given to children.

Ha you read my mind, was coming here to ask just that. I've always been good about getting it but not the past couple years. I am pro-vaccine but for some reason just been not wanting to deal with it. My reactions to certain things have been getting stranger (e.g. had a terrible reaction to an iron infusion recently after years of being fine) so that's made me apprehensive even though I know it's likely unfounded...

I also have an active ringworm infection right now and while I know that should not have any correlation I'll still wait...we deal with enough with this illness it's okay to take things at your own pace and comfort (aside from the public health arguments for getting a shot).

He said that Entyvio is a new enough drug that we don't have a lot of clinical data on it, so it may affect the immune system in unpredictable ways. For example, they say it only affects the bowels, so then why does it cause chronic sinusitis in some people?

Likely because the nasal mucosa is connected to the oral/pharyngeal mucosa, which is then connected to the esophageal mucosa, which connects to the gastric mucosa, which connects to....you get the point. Entyvio alters leukocyte trafficking into any mucosa in the GI tract, and the nose/throat are included in that.
