Any experience with gasterenteroligists in Vermont-Burlington?

Looks like I'm relocating to the greater Burlington Vermont area, wondering if anyone has any experience with gasteroenteroligists up in that area? The University of Vermont (UVM) department of gasteroenteroligy seems pretty solid. I've been reading about the doctors and watching the video profiles.

I checked ratemds and the others mentioned in the resources section. I searched the forum and saw some older posts by stereofidelic89 who appeared to be in that area a while ago, not sure if still is.

Any Green Mountainers here, native or transplants?

I'm in Connecticut and go up to Mass General to be seen - not sure if that's doable but might be worth the drive. They have the 4th ranked GI program in the country via U.S. News, and a Crohn's/Colitis Group specifically for UC patients. I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago and have had almost daily follow up with my GI as well as an on call doc. They have been incredibly responsive and tuned in.

That's great that you're moving. Did you find work there? Are you making a shift in direction like we were talking about? I don't know anything about VT unfortunately so I can't provide any insight.

My wife got a dream job with vermont fish and game (she's a biologist) and I've just started applying for graphic design jobs with the new portfolio i shared with you Kara (thanks for the feedback btw). With the federal hiring freeze for at least 4 years, she had no room for advancement within the USFWS. So went instead for a state government job, where they are bold in environmental conservation and ecology. VT isn't too far, and it's just an upside down NH afterall lol. It's rural and crazy liberal land with locally made craft beer and cheese, so we should be in paradise. Didn't quite move to Canada due to the election, but might be just 30 minutes from there now (and can scope it out) haha.

Lived in Vermont for five years until Jan 2016. Loved every minute of it and hope to return in retirement! Can't testify to gastro's in Burlington, but the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center is in Hanover, New Hampshire, about a 90 minute drive from Burlington I think (right on the Vermont/NH border.) Top quality care there, for sure. That's where I got diagnosed on 2015 and treated until I moved overseas in early 2016.

That sounds fantastic. I love VT, but I am not a big fan of the cold. It sounds like a great opportunity for both you and your wife. Hopefully you can find work up there quickly. I am picturing the smallest town on the planet smile I haven't been there in so many years..
