Hi sweety. Congrats on the pregnancy!
I flared really bad during my second pregnancy. Like momto2boys said I had to start remicade at 30 weeks. My flare started at 26 weeks and we couldnt get it under control even with 40 mg of pred. I was terrified to go into preterm labor so I made a had decision. It put me into remission prior to giving birth so for me it was the best decision for myself and baby.
I've tried Entocort and Uceris (while not pregnant) but they didn't help. Pred usually doesn't help me either but with my last couple mild flares its gotten things under control.
From what my GI says you and the baby are safe under 30 mg of prednisone. Higher doses pass through the placenta. I understand exactly how you feel though and don't want you to think I'm discounting that. Its very hard to make decisions on meds when you are carrying another human.
In my humble opinion I would do anything to get it under control now. If the cortenemas aren't helping I would ask for a blast taper...maybe starting at 20mg and see if it helps and taper quickly (like every 5 days) if your body will cooperate.
Also keep in mind that your hormones are going to shift towards the beginning of the second trimester and that could possibly stop the flare.
If you have any questions about
my experience with my second baby and my meds please feel free to ask. I try to be an
open book with my UC roller coasters to help others
