Getting Remicade infusion now

Hey guys,
I'm literally at the infusion center about an hour into my first Remicade infusion. So far so good. Nothing to it. Premeds were just Tylenol. Lots of paperwork and explaining the horrible side effects but is expected with any IV meds.

Diagnosed UC in June, 32 year old male, was in great shape running 5-10 miles a week, eating healthy as I good, beers on the weekend typical guy stuff. Wife and kiddo. Woke up one morning with blood and diarrhea and the rest is typical UC. Doctor, specialist, Hospital. Lost 25 lbs in 3 weeks. Tried Lialda and Apriso and had bad reactions to both which landed me in the hospital for 5 days. Now on Prednisone only with the Remicade now.

Just thought I'd share my experience with y'all. Eating normal now still going 5-8 times mainly in the morning 3-6am. Stable during the day.

I'm a little nervous but we will see what happens.

Glad it's going smoothly. Remicade is the only medication to put my UC into a remission (a total absence of UC symptoms) and I hope it does the same for you! It typically takes 3 or so infusions to feel a big difference, so you might not see huge changes right away.

My son saw immediate results after his first infusion but it only lasted about 10 days. It wasn't until the third one that it lasted. You might leave there feeling much better if you're lucky.

Almost done. Hopefully see good results. I have noticed a difference with 40mg prednisone to now 30mg....more movement on the 30 but tired of the pred effects. Mainly not sleeping. Felt like superman on 40mg.

Remicade infusion was great so far....will see with the next couple hours and days.
