Hi there, this is my first ever contribution to the forum. I just wanted to say while it's still relatively early days and I'm aware that everything can change very quickly that I've managed to keep my UC in remission for the last four years by taking a nightly mix of slippery elm (2x400mg capsules), 3-4 teaspoons of psyllium husk and 250 ml of warm water. I mix everything together just before I go to bed and let it stand a bit so it thickens to fairly thick gloop and drink it down. In the last four years, I had one flare-up that coincided with me running out of slippery elm and an online order being delayed by a couple of weeks. There have also been occasions where my morning BM has been accompanied by blood (the last time was the result of drinking too much wine and eating far too many chips and chocolates the night before), almost always signalling the onset of a flare, but every time this has happened, immediately taking two slippery elm capsules and two more at lunchtime in combination with my nightly mix has cleared up the blood immediately. I know this particular mix of supplements won't help everyone, but after a lot of experimenting I was glad to find something that does seem to be having some success and hope it might help others. Thanks.
