If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you want to go and why?

What if the options only included the US, where and why?

A fun thread! Haven't had one of those in a while!

Sadly, I can't really answer the first question. If for some reason the opportunity came up to make such a choice in real life, I would have to research and analyse all the options to death. I would need to factor in climate, health care, cost of living, safety issues, etc etc etc. Other than cost of living, where I live now suits me fairly well.

If I HAD to live in the US??? I'd be a bit concerned about the political climate right now and would be very reluctant. But I think I would probably choose Seattle or Portland, and most likely Portland (Oregon). I like the feel of the city, it feels a lot like where I live now.

Don't like to sit for too long at the same place, moved to Toronto recently. I'd love for my next stop to be somewhere in Vancouver mainly because of the beautiful landscapes which I've seen on the pictures.

As for the US, that would be Seattle or Portland. I've been to Portland and really liked it, relaxed atmosphere, places to go hiking etc.

Too hard to choose!

I'd probably stick with an English speaking country if we are factoring in having to work and stuff like that. Maybe British Columbia or Hawaii? Both have great, but very different, climates and a ton of stuff to do outside.

Non-English speaking, maybe Belize? Been there a few times with my family and loved it.

Well, I think I would like New Zealand, I have read a bit about it recently and it sounds such an amazing place to live and it is soooo picturesque, and as a major plus, they speak English!

It's hard for me to choose out of the world because i haven't been to enough places, but the language barrier would be tough if I went somewhere where they didn't speak English. I've always wanted to move to Australia, but I haven't been there so who knows if I would like it. Also, what if there are no jobs for me there...

I don't like the cold. I think Hawaii would be nice, but it's expensive and I am not sure there's work there. The Northwest is nice but it's gray and gets very chilly. Then it's rainy in a lot of places, or the winter is long & tough. Sometimes I wonder if there is anywhere I would like more than California.

I am with you fighter, I don't like to be in the same place too long and I've been here for a while.

I've heard a lot of good about NZ too. I think i'd be more open to moving to a different variety of places if I had a family/kids..

The huge problem with where I am is that it's way too expensive. I want to live somewhere cheaper, but it seems like all the cheaper places are less urban & more family oriented.

Europe.

Dunno where exactly, it would depend on loads of different things. As it's not remotely feasible, I haven't looked into it. But if I were younger and healthier, I would seriously be considering it right now. And learning a second language.

If the US, I'm not sure. Maybe Seattle, but again, if it ever became an actual possibility, I would have to do about a year's worth of research first.

I have wandering feet so this is a hard one....and Crohns heat intolerance has taken away so many options.

I think I would split my time between Colorado and the coast....

But ask me in five minutes and that will change....
