I was eager to try LDN. Got my rx, ordered the drug, now wile waiting for it to arrive, I'm reading that Naltrexone and Prednisolone are cancelling each other out(I'm on pred and salofalk right now). Is that true? Some says it is, some says it's not. I know taking them together doesn't do anything bad but does it prevent LDN from taking effect as they both work on Immune System?
I'm confused on this, I'm having a mild flare, should I continue taking Pred and wait until I get better to try LDN? Also, if I were to taper off of Pred completely, should I wait for it to get out of my system(which takes two weeks I suppose)? Is that required for LDN to start doing it thing?
I'm on a low dose of pred, and I had already tapered down to zero some weeks ago, stayed off it for around 6 weeks then had to start using it again when symptoms came back(probably due to weather getting cold again).
ps: I don't believe my doc will approve of me using LDN, so I can't consult him and I'm pretty sure he doesn't know about the therapy. He will not listen to me on this as he never does and will say that I should continue with my therapy as usual but I'm steroid dependent at the moment. I'll ask him the prescribe me Remicade of Humira if LDN doesn't put me back at partial remission at the very least.
Second question: is preparing LDN with distilled water at home a viable solution? I can't find any compounding pharmacies in my country. Pharmacies or doctors can't guide me on adjusting the dosage.
